Baxter Falls via Flaxton Walkers camp
This trail is a moderate 7.7km out and back trail in Kondalilla National Park, near Mapleton.
Activities: Walking, hiking.
Parking: Corner of Old mill Lane and Flaxton Mill road, Mapleton.
This walk is a section of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.
The trail is downhill all the way to the falls and rockpools and a steady uphill on the way back. Trail is mostly well marked and passes the Flaxton Walkers camp where hikers camp overnight when completing the Sunshine Coast Great walk. There is a composting toilet at the Flaxton walkers campsite.
Baxter Falls
You can also do a shorter walk from the Northern side – Baxter Falls Northern Track.

The Trail
The trail starts off easy along a well worn trail before you start the descent down to falls. The trail zig zags down so on the way back up it is a gradual incline the whole way and not too steep. The forest is thick and makes for a very pleasant walk.

Suspension Bridge
The bridge crosses over Baxter creek and can take 2 adults at a time. It links the Northern and Southern trails up the valley on either side of the falls.

Rockpools

“Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley.”
