This is an easy 5.7km loop from Noosa Botanic Gardens through Tewantin National park forestry trails to extend the walk.
Activities: Walking, running, picnic tables.
Parking: Noosa Botanic Gardens Carpark on Lake MacDonald Drive, Lake MacDonald.
I started this walk from the Noosa botanic gardens which you can also include as a separate trail while you are here – Lake MacDonald Gardens loop.
Lake MacDonald
To get to the forest, walk left along the lake edge on the narrow dirt path until you reach the SEQ water barrier, then walk along side of Lake MacDonald drive for a short distance to the weir.
The Trail
At the weir, take a right onto Collwood road and cross over the bridge to enter the trail entrance on left behind toilet block.
The trail takes you through Tewantin forestry and then along Old Tewantin Road which is a quiet suburban street before you re-enter the forest trail to loop back around.
