This is an easy 9.5km out and back trail along the Rail trail between Imbil and Brooloo, near Gympie.
Activities: Walking, running, dog walking, cycling, horse riding.
Parking: Carpark off Williams Street, Imbil.
This is an abandoned railway corridor that is a gravel pathway between these two towns. The trail is mostly flat and an easy walk in either direction. There are gates at each road crossing and it is well sign posted.
History
You can read about the history of the area along the way, with markers showing distance. There is one section of the trail with lots of bellbirds singing and I also saw lots of butterflies.
The Trail
The trail is only partly shady so may get hot in summer. I’ve only ever done this during winter and its gravel the whole way, so if riding your horse, best to have boots or shoes on them.
