This is an easy 3km out and back track up to Shepperson’s hill lookout in Cootharaba. With beautiful views over Noosa hinterland.
Activities: Walking.
Parking: Silver Ash Lane, off Kinmond Creek Road, Cootharaba. Silver Ash lane is a gravel road. Stop at the end of the gravel where there is limited parking. Then continue up the track on foot.
The Views
Lovely views over the Cootharaba and Kin Kin range on the Westerly side and coastal views over Lake Cootharaba to the east. Enjoy a steady incline up to the lookout.
The Trail
This trail is a dirt 4wd track which has some washouts after the recent heavy rain. The track could be slippery when wet. The track takes you up to join the Noosa Trail network to the left. When you reach the picnic table you have arrived at Shepperson’s hill. If you would like to extend this walk you can continue further along Simpsons track through to Simpsons Road.
Shepperson’s Hill
Beautiful countryside views over the hinterland. There is a picnic table and water tank here. Read about the history of this area back in the 1930’s.
