Dularcha National Park
You can extend this walk on one of the many loop trails that extend off this forest. I’ll add more as I map them out. The tunnel is a highlight of this trail and if you don’t want to walk through a dark tunnel you can always take the tunnel bypass track.
The Railway Tunnel
The highlight of this trail is the historic railway tunnel which is around 90 meters in length and was built in 1891. It is quite dark in the middle (my camera flash lit up the area) but it’s pitch black inside. I’ve ridden my horse through here also. Apparently there is a bat colony living in here but I haven’t seen them.
The Trail
The trail is fairly flat but is rocky in places with a couple of washout sections when I recently did this. It is mostly shady and nice forestry, especially when wildflowers are out.
