Road Rage & Coobong Loop

17 February 2021 Sunshine Coast Walks 0 Comments

This trail is a moderate 5km loop in Parklands forest near Nambour.

Activities: Walking, mountain biking, running

Parking: Carpark off Bruce Hwy on Radar Hill Road

This is a good track with some rainforest and a couple of good hills to get the heart rate up. It is mostly shady and popular with mountain bikes, so keep a lookout if there are a few bikes out there. Best to walk or run the trails in this forest midweek when its not as busy with mountain bikes.

The Trail

The trail is often narrow so watch out for bikes on blind corners. I have done this track midweek mornings and don’t see many bikes or people but during school holidays and weekends is busier. It is mostly shady.

Scenery

The forest is quite thick in places on this trail with some open clearings. Overall a nice walk but I did feel a bit isolated in places doing this walk solo.

Parklands Forest

There are lots of tracks in this forest. Many of the narrow trails are best left for mountain bikers but this particular trail is great. There is a wild emu here, so you may be lucky enough to come across one.
