This is a moderate 5.9km out and back trail from Cooroibah up to Mt Tinbeerwah lookout through Tewantin National Park near Noosa.
Activities: Walking.
Parking: Old Tewantin Road, off McKinnon Drive Cooroibah.
The entrance to forest trail is on left along Old Tewantin road. It is steep in places and quite narrow and rocky. There is a waterfall apparently somewhere off the track here but we didn’t find it.
The Trail
It’s a bit of a goat track for some of the way and I recommend good hiking shoes to avoid slipping on loose gravel and avoid after rain.
Views from First Lookout
The trail is only ‘wheel friendly’ for the first 150mtrs which is paved. The views are still beautiful from the ‘wheel-friendly’ first lookout.
Views from the Top
With 360 degree views of the mountains and coast. You can see Lake MacDonald, Cooroibah and Cootharaba also. This walk has spectacular views with very little effort.
The Lookout Trail
This section of the trail is paved to the first lookout. There is a tower you can climb at the top to get great 360 degree views. Not a lot of shade on this last section of track so best to avoid the middle of the day in the heat.
“An early morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.”
– Henry David Thoreau
