This is an easy 4.2km out and back trail from Sunshine Beach to Alexandria Bay, through Noosa National Park.
Activities: Walking, running & swimming
Parking: Park on street along Parkedge Road, Sunshine beach
This is one of my favorite walks as it is not too long, and is a pleasant walk with a few gentle slopes to powerwalk up. The trail is a mix of wide sandy tracks combined with narrow rocky trails which give this walk a variety of scenery.
Alexandria bay or A-bay is a nudist beach so you may see a few bare butts on the beach, but it is a fairly quiet beach and most of the time you won’t see many people at all.
I saw two large goannas on the trail and barely see anyone midweek and weekends are a little busier.
The Trail
Some sections of the trail are shady in the forest but there are wide sandy tracks which have no shade so bring sunglasses and a hat in the hot weather as the reflection on the white sand can be bright and hot.
Alexandria Bay Beach
Beach access is only available from either Sunshine beach or via Hells gate in Noosa. So this isolated stretch of beach is private and quiet.
