This is an easy 5.5km out and back trail in Noosa National park that has amazing views along the coastline to Double island point and Alexandria bay. It is popular with walkers and joggers.
Activities: Walking, running, turtle, dolphin & whale spotting.
Parking: Carpark at end of Park Rd, Noosa Heads
This is one of the most beautiful walks you can do on the Sunshine Coast and it is a very popular walk. It is definitely one of my favorite walks and even though I’ve done it numerous times, it still leaves me feeling so lucky to live here.
You can sometimes spot turtles and dolphins or migrating whales between July and November.
Also check out the following along the trail:
Boiling Pot – The waves crash into the rocks with a boiling effect.
Dolphin Point – A good place to try and spot dolphins.
Pathway
The track is well maintained and the first 1km in to dolphin point is paved so is suitable for wheelchairs and the remainder is a well worn dirt track. If you would prefer a loop trail then I would recommend – Hells Gate & Tanglewood trail loop.
Beach access points
There are a few beach access points that are popular with surfers and swimmers along the trail.
Beautiful Coastline
This is one walk that I don’t mind doing an out and back as the coastline looks different from each direction. You can do a loop via Tanglewood track if preferred.
Hells Gate
Hells gate was named by explorers Fisher and Thomson in 1883. I assume the name came about due to the narrow gorge where the waves come crashing in.
“There is something magical about the oceans ability to wash away stress while watching the waves”
